Photography, Giclee Printing on Paper - Cotton 2018 Biafarin Artwork Code: AW127397520 This is a high-magnification photograph of the orchid 'Phalaenopsis', taken in natural light, without manipulation. It is presented as a Framed Single-Edition Giclée Print. At high magnification images of natural forms are abstract and arbitrary. In every session I scan through many such images until I find one that transmits a 'thought' - a metaphor. There are very few of these. The metaphor here is 'Global Warming' - a merciless sun is scorching a parched Earth. This is the first in a set of seven images imaginatively tracing the effects of Global Warming. I am setting them in parallel to the Norse saga 'Ragnarök' which tells of the way in which the Gods ended up in a conflict which destroyed their world.
