This is the cover art for Diary 4 in the 'The Jonas Grumby Diaries' (A collection of 30 illustrated novels). In 1969 After the success of TV's Gilligan's Island and the preceding novels that include the classic 'Chronicles of Captain Grumby 4 book set from 1954, the 20 part 'Voyages of Captain Grumby Collection - 1961-62, as well as 1965's six part 'Grumby's Tales of High Adventure' sagas, the publishing company Minnow Press decided to publish the next installment of illustrated books called 'The Jonas Grumby Diaries'. Unfortunately the series was not well received mostly due to low sales and the fact that less than 9000 copies were printed. It was no surprise that the second edition printing was enviably cancelled. Like all the other preceding book series the catch line in The Jonas Grumby Diaries read; "Captain Jonas Grumby is the ultimate man of action: always ready for any challenge, always prepared to pit quick wits and brawn against an intractable problem."
