This image allows us to venture into a mysterious night on the beach. The moon Is hidden by a layer of cloud and the waves sparkle and gleam with light. A misty half halo arches over the moonlight reflected on the sea. Only the surf and the top edge of the cloud have color. The points of light in the waves can be likened to a galaxy of stars. ‘Midnight Surf’ was originally a picture of a sunset, full of fire, but the black and white image got the better of me. This is a montage of three photos: Zuma Beach (the waves), Morro Bay (the sea, the sky and the cloud), and a Hubble image of a galaxy (the points of light in the surf). Limited edition of 50.
