Surreal Again This graphite pencil drawing ‘The Venus of The Hague – 23-07-20’ is my last one of the series ‘The Venus of The Hague’. What struck me was that the last drawing was very cubistic. Consequently I could only make a u-turn back to more figuration. The drawing before that one was surrealistic and I felt I had to return to surrealism once again. Rocky would have stated “there still was stuff in the basement”. So it happened I saw a documentary about the great white shark at the same time. It messed with my head and fantasies about the deep blue arose. Imagine a Fish Being a deep sea fish a coelacanth hardly ever come face to face with a white shark way up high but sometimes it does. If so, what would you expect to happen. A greeting or a face off? It is one of those mysteries that lies under the sea. Who can tell what may come next? But wait a minute.
