This painting involves a palette knife, black, white, and grey paint. I first used the knife to spread the grey paint to set up the background, leaving the top section for the white to spread and lightly mix into the grey while spreading more of the white into the grey in the bottom portion of the canvas. I then used white to spread into the grey on the side moving in an up-and-down fashion. I then used black to create the trees, letting it dry a little, I then used the edge of my knife with white on it to establish the trunks of the trees. Then I used the edge with white to divide the two halves of the canvas and to show the edge of the water as well as creating some ripples and reflections. I used a dab of white to create the moon.
