Dad, Husband, and Veteran. I think I started being interested in art when I first met my wife in high school when we were just acquaintances. She is very artistically inclined, so I took it up with her as we got to know each other. Fast forward 20 years, four kids, a significant injury overseas, and almost five years of boots-on-ground in Iraq and Afghanistan, I started painting again and found it enjoyable and therapeutic. I don't paint anything real; I can't. I usually can only paint when I paint nothing. I don't know what the painting is until I finish, if that makes sense.
