This imaginary island gradually shaped in front of my eyes while I was playing with different shades of blue ink on this 100%-cotton watercolor paper. The seagulls symbolize the fine weather that stormy sea heralds, as well as the potential of a storm to make one's dreams fly. For this piece, I used mixed techniques: ink, watercolor pencils and pastels, and oil pastels.
