This illustration is part of a series I started during the pandemic's second wave on ordinary people in Italy, my country. I always found fascinating the characters who inhabit our cities without people paying much attention to them. So, this year, also to cast out the loneliness of these challenging times we're living, I finally began drawing some of them. This illustration is based on a real-life drawing I made in a park of a woman enjoying a sunny day. Actually, she was with a friend whom I didn't have the time to portray. Yet, they stay for long times silent so that, in some way, it was like she was alone. For this piece, I used a mixed technique: I used inks, watercolor pencils, and white chalk on watercolor paper.
