Base photo from the public domain. The forward torpedo room of a US World War II diesel submarine. The artist went to sea in such a boat when he served in the Navy. The machinery, the valves, the torpedo tube doors, and the cramped quarters are vividly displayed in this image. The men who rode these boats during the war were a special breed of sailor. Many boats were lost. PS CS6 was used to create the hatch work effect and the colors of the brass doors in the image. This piece is especially poignant in aluminum. Limited edition of 40.
